As early as 30 years ago BILSTEIN developed the adjustable suspension to cater for the needs of the motor sports teams seeking the optimal setting on circuits displaying different characteristics.
Technology evolved from motor sports for the road – BILSTEIN's big advantatge. By developing the BILSTEIN B14 PSS, the BILSTEIN engineers responded fully to the challenge. BILSTEIN B14 PSS, based on the mono-tube gas pressure technology- inverted technology used on front axle struts – is to be found in many spheres of motor sports such as in 24-hour racing, in the BF Goodrich longdistance championship as well as on high-end tuned vehicles. |
Using the BILSTEIN B14 PSS body height can be varied by a registered amount of approx. 20 mm at a reduction of approx. 50 mm on the front and rear axles.

By developing the BILSTEIN B16 BSS, the BILSTEIN engineers responded fully to the challenge and created a new performance class. The BILSTEIN B16 PSS 9, based on the mono-tube gas pressure technology –inverted technology on front axle struts – is to be found in many spheres of motor sports such as in 24-hour racing, in the BF Goodrich long-distance championship as well as on high-end tuned vehicles. Using the BILSTEIN B16 PSS body height can be varied by the registered amount of approx. 20 mm at a reduction of approx. 50 mm on the front and rear axles.
Additionally, 9 different settings can be selected on both the compression and rebound strokes by means of an adjuster wheel. Professional tuning of the car is achieved through both height and parallel damping force adjustment – drivers find their perfect settings – under all driving conditions.
